All about the 8th Swiss Schieber Championship

Entering the tournament

It is really easy to take part in the 8th Swiss Schieber Championship – either use your Swisslos account, or an e-mail login. You simply have to meet the following three criteria to take part:

  • Payers must be a minimum of 18 years of age when they play the first qualification match.
  • Players must be resident in Switzerland or the Principality of Liechtenstein.
  • You may not take part with a different Swisslos account/e-mail login.

Boot Camp (27.09.-03.10.2024)

Between 27 September and 3 October, you can prepare for the qualification phase of the 8th Swiss Schieber Championship in our boot camp format. You can play Jass as often as you like during the boot camp. Each participant in the boot camp will receive a little something extra – 5 bonus matches which can be used during the qualification phase. The three people with the match with the highest number of points in the boot camp will win a voucher for Coop worth 100 francs each.

Important: The matches played in the boot camp will not be taken into account for any qualification to the semi-final. In addition, the boot camp is not a requirement for subsequent participation in the qualification phase.

Qualification (04.10.-23.10.2024)

Take advantage of the chance to qualify for the semi-finals twice a day until 23 October. On the three Trump Sundays (6, 13 & 20 October 2024) you can even take part in five matches. Jass will be played online, with and/or against three computers. One match lasts 12 rounds. As usual, there will be no multipliers, marriages, melds or match points. If you manage to get at least 1,150 points in one match, you will go through to the semi-final.

Semi-final (24.10.-27.10.2024)

From Thursday, 24 October, 7 a.m., until Sunday, 27 October 2024, 11 p.m., all semi-finalists can play a total of six matches. Only the three best matches are evaluated and entered into the ranking list. The 100 players with the highest score will qualify for the final tournament in Zug. As in the qualification rounds, players will only play with or against the computer. Here, too, each match lasts 12 rounds and is played without multipliers, marriages, melds or match points.

Final tournament (16.11.2024)

The 100 best semi-finalists, the winner of the 7th Swiss Schieber Championship and celebrity Jass players will be invited to the final tournament on 16 November 2024 at Theater Casino Zug. The final tournament comprises a preliminary round and a final table:

  • Preliminary round: In the preliminary round, players play 5 sets each consisting of 12 games. The composition of the Jass table is drawn by lot and varies from set to set.
  • Final table: The four best-ranked participants after the placement round play for the title of 2024 Swiss Schieber Champion at the final table. Three sets each consisting of four games are played at the final table – each participant forms a team with each other participant once.
